Duration: April 2017 – November 2017

Within this project the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights (BCHR) will organize human rights and the rule of law schools for young people in five cities in Serbia.

The aim of the project is to introduce young people with the idea, term and mechanism for the protection of human rights but also to encourage them to contribute to the promotion of human rights in their communities. The lectures will be held by BCHR lawyers with great experience in the education of various social groups on the concept of human rights and its protection. In addition, human rights school will include workshops in order to give the participants an opportunity to present their views on the status of human rights in their respective local communities.

Based on the knowledge participants acquired during these schools and with the BCHR team mentorship, the participants will draft a public policy proposal in which they will present ideas for solving concrete problems in their local communities. At the end of the project, young people from Zajecar, Novi Pazar, Leskovac, Becej and Obrenovac will present their work at a conference in Human rights House in Belgrade.
