Conference “Processing genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina”

Bojan Stojanović, a lawyer at the Belgrade Center for Human Rights, participated at the 3rd international conference “The Processing of Genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, which was held from 18-19. in April 2018, in Sarajevo. The conference was organized by the “Association of victims and witnesses of genocide” and the “Mother of the Srebrenica and Zepa enclaves” movement. 

The conference was held under the slogan “Dare to Know”, with the aim of promoting the application of international law and promoting opposition to the review of the facts established during the ICTY trials, in connection with war crimes and genocide committed in BiH during the 1992-95 war. Also, the purpose of the meeting in Sarajevo was to connect young lawyers from the territory of the former Yugoslavia. The speakers were Judge Theodor Meron, Mark Harmon, former Chief Prosecutor of the ICTY and others.

In the second part of the conference, a two-day simulation trial for the crime of genocide was held. It was chaired by Judge Theodor Meron, who served as Chair of the ICTY Appeals Chamber.
