Educational course for the local youth office coordinators on work with vulnerable groups and issues of non discrimination

The Educational Course was organised by the OSCE Mission to Serbia and the Youth and Sports Ministry, with the professional support of the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights.The Course was developed on the basis of a strategic document entitled Guidelines for the Implementation of the Youth Strategy at the Local Level (Purviews of the Coordinators and Operational Standards of Youth Offices) that was prepared by the Youth and Sports Ministry of the Republic of Serbia in cooperation with GIZ. The content of the lectures/workshops/video presentations presented at this Educational Course focused on inclusive youth policies – work with vulnerable youth groups.

Objectives  of the Educational Course:

  • To analyse the current situation through the presentation of the theoretical aspects and practices and define the status of vulnerable youth groups in the local communities
  • To deepen the Coordinators’ understanding of the principles of non-discrimination and equal opportunities and prompt them to involve more youths from vulnerable social groups in Youth Office programmes and activities
  • To improve the Coordinators’ existing knowledge in this field to facilitate their identification of various forms of discrimination in their local communities.
  • To encourage the Coordinators to launch local activities and affirmative measures to sensitise the public and include more youths from vulnerable social groups, and create the atmosphere of tolerance, solidarity and equal chances for all, notwithstanding their individual differences
  • To enable exchange of experience, networking and sharing of good practice examples with the lecturers and representatives of the institutions and the NGO sector
