{"id":10499,"date":"2026-07-07T10:20:32","date_gmt":"2026-07-07T09:20:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bgcentar.org.rs\/?p=10499"},"modified":"2026-07-06T23:24:38","modified_gmt":"2026-07-06T22:24:38","slug":"international-event-of-the-erasmus-project-intercultural-competences-and-innovative-approaches-in-working-with-refugees-and-migrants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bgcentar.org.rs\/en\/international-event-of-the-erasmus-project-intercultural-competences-and-innovative-approaches-in-working-with-refugees-and-migrants\/","title":{"rendered":"International event of the Erasmus+ project \u201cIntercultural Competences and Innovative Approaches in Working with Refugees and Migrants\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The final international event of the Erasmus+ project \u201cIntercultural Competences and Innovative Approaches in Working with Refugees and Migrants\u201d, implemented by the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights and Zemljani \u2013 Are You Syrious? from Croatia, with the support of the European Union, was held in Belgrade on 30 June 2026 at Kafe klub 16.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The event brought together colleagues from Serbia, Croatia and North Macedonia, creating a space for regional exchange of experiences on integration, interculturality and work with refugees and migrants.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"post-10504 media-10504\" class=\"align-left\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bgcentar.org.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_0813-1-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the event, the key project results were presented, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bgcentar.org.rs\/en\/digital-handbook-on-intercultural-competences-and-innovative-approaches-to-working-with-refugees-and-migrants-published\/\">the digital handbook on intercultural competences and innovative approaches in working with refugees and migrants<\/a>, presented by Dragan \u0110uri\u010di\u0107 from Zemljani \u2013 Are You Syrious? and Jelena Ili\u0107 Stojadinovi\u0107 from the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"post-10500 media-10500\" class=\"align-left\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bgcentar.org.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/2-1-1024x682.jpeg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A joint <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=TlYyrCAfJFw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">educational video<\/a> was also presented, showing examples of successful refugee integration in Serbia through concrete life stories.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As part of the panel discussion \u201cExperience of Working with Refugees in the Context of Interculturality and Integration\u201d, we discussed challenges and good practices in working with refugees, the importance of intercultural competences, as well as what refugees bring to the local communities they arrive in.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"post-10501 media-10501\" class=\"align-left\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bgcentar.org.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/3-1-1024x682.jpeg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The panel speakers were: Maja Negrojevi\u0107 from Jesuit Refugee Service Serbia, Vlada Sjeklo\u0107a from the Centre for Crisis Policy and Response, Aleksandra Efremova from the Macedonian Young Lawyers Association, who shared the perspective from North Macedonia, and Andrijana Miljkovi\u0107 from the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We would like to thank all participants, panellists, partners and colleagues from the region who contributed to this project and the final event.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"post-10505 media-10505\" class=\"align-left\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bgcentar.org.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_0803-1-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Funded by the European Union.
