After publishing a brief <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bgcentar.org.rs\/edukativni-materijal-o-pravima-pacijentkinja-u-postupku-prekida-trudnoce\/\">educational handbook<\/a>, we conducted a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bgcentar.org.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Najznacajniji-nalazi-istrazivanja-indukovani-pobacaji-1.pdf\">survey of women\u2019s experiences of induced abortions<\/a> and an analysis of the health institutions\u2019 induced abortion procedures and practices and recommendations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We are extremely pleased to be launching this activity at the local level now. Our tour of six cities in Serbia will provide us with the opportunity to empower women on the spot and familiarise them with the rights they have in ob-gyn clinics and to hear their experiences and share all important information. #Myrighttoknow Caravan will visit Kragujevac, Ni\u0161, Novi Sad, U\u017eice, Belgrade and \u0160abac over the following month, until mid-October, whereupon we will present our analysis with recommendations on induced abortion procedures in Serbia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To recall, news of inhuman treatment in Serbian ob-gyn clinics broke in early 2022, when Milica Filipovi\u0107 from \u0160abac\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/rs.n1info.com\/vesti\/gosca-n1-posle-akuserkog-nasilja-doktor-je-rekao-to-nije-beba-nego-40-grama\/\">publicly shared the trauma<\/a> \u00a0she had experienced during the induced abortion procedure in the \u201cNarodni front\u201d clinic. Her testimony <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qHZcepYBJHQ&amp;embeds_referring_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bgcentar.org.rs%2F&amp;source_ve_path=MjM4NTE&amp;feature=emb_title\">\u00a0prompted many women across Serbia to speak out about similar or identical inhuman treatment they had been subjected to <\/a>\u00a0in many health institutions across Serbia for decades.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Belgrade Centre for Human Rights will continue implementing activities supporting and empowering women who have experienced inhuman treatment in ob-gyn clinics in Serbia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>This project has been supported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bgcentar.org.rs\/en\/projekti\/improving-the-implementation-of-induced-abortion-procedures-in-serbia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UN Women<\/a> within the project \u201cKey Steps to Gender Equality, Phase II<\/em><em>\u201d, which is funded by the European Union.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Within its #MyRightToKnow Caravan campaign, the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights is setting out on its tour of cities in Serbia with a view to educating women and raising their awareness of the rights they have as ob-gyn patients.
