{"id":8858,"date":"2025-04-08T09:24:28","date_gmt":"2025-04-08T08:24:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bgcentar.org.rs\/?p=8858"},"modified":"2025-04-16T15:38:09","modified_gmt":"2025-04-16T14:38:09","slug":"press-conference-addressing-the-15-march-incident-and-its-impact-on-peaceful-protest-in-belgrade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bgcentar.org.rs\/en\/press-conference-addressing-the-15-march-incident-and-its-impact-on-peaceful-protest-in-belgrade\/","title":{"rendered":"PRESS CONFERENCE Addressing the 15 March Incident and Its Impact on Peaceful Protest in Belgrade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\">The civil society organizations Belgrade Centre for Human Rights, CRTA, Civic Initiatives, A 11 \u2013 Initiative for Economic and Social Rights, Lawyers\u2019 Committee for Human Rights\u00a0YUCOM, and FemPlatz will hold a\u00a0<b>press conference on Wednesday, 9 April,<\/b>\u00a0to address the incident of 15 March that disrupted a peaceful protest in Belgrade during the 15 minutes of silence held in memory of those who lost their lives in the collapse of the awning at the Novi Sad Railway Station.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\"><b>The press conference will take place on Wednesday, 9 April, at 12:00 PM in the large conference hall of the Media Center (Terazije 3, 1st floor).<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\">Speakers at the conference will include:<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\">Katarina Golubovi\u0107, Lawyers\u2019 Committee for Human Rights YUCOM<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\">\u0110or\u0111e Krivokapi\u0107, SHARE Foundation<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\">Vladica Ili\u0107, Belgrade Centre for Human Rights\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\">Civil society organizations have received over 4,000 testimonies from citizens of Serbia regarding the events of March 15, 2025, which took place in central Belgrade &#8211; spanning the area from Slavija Square to Terazije and the surrounding streets &#8211; during the fifteen minutes of silence that began at 7:00 PM. The press conference will highlight the actions taken by civil society organizations before domestic and international institutions to protect the human rights of those affected by\u2014and those reporting on\u2014the incidents.
