During November and December, the team of the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights, in cooperation with FemPlatz and NAPOR, conducted four training sessions for local civil society organizations, activists, and informal groups within the framework of the Košnice aktivizma (Hives of Activism) project, funded by the European Union. These trainings were part of a broader initiative aimed at strengthening local communities, enhancing civic activism, and empowering organizations and collectives working in the fields of human rights, gender equality, and youth engagement.
The two-day trainings were held at the Free Media House in Zaječar, the premises of Caritas in Aleksinac, Hotel Andrić in Sombor, and the Zone of Social Dialogue Association (KLUB ZONA branch) in Zrenjanin, with the participation of representatives of local initiatives, organizations, and community-based activists. The trainings were delivered by representatives of the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights, who, through practical examples, case analyses, and open discussion, provided participants with insight into the legal framework as well as the challenges faced by organizations and citizens in exercising the right to peaceful assembly.
In addition, one full day of the training programme was dedicated to summarizing key conclusions and planning further support, during which local needs were mapped and next steps for future activities and project cooperation were defined.
Through these activities, the Košnice aktivizma project continues to strengthen local initiatives, support civic engagement, and build a network of organizations actively working to advance human rights and democracy within their communities.
