The project Login EU started in 2005 and because of its importance the same project was conducted in 2006. The aim was to contribute to the accepting the European Union values and understanding the European integration process among high school students; to enhance their knowledge of the EU, its history, institutions, values, law, culture, economic, political and educational cooperation, etc. The project lasted twelve months. It consisted of the production of the relevant educational materials and then organisation of seminars and workshops. The seminars were held in Kovačica, Titel, Ruma, Veliko Gradište, Šabac, Vrnjačka banja, Preševo, Dimitrovgrad, Vladičin han and Smederevo. Each seminar lasted for two days and was attended by 30-40 students. The lectures were not classical ex cathedra lectures because the lecturers were placing a lot of efforts to make interactive lectures, involving and encouraging the students into discussions, applying modern methods of teaching – power point presentations, films, moot courts sessions, crossword puzzles, etc.After the seminars, the students were given one month to submit the essays or works of art related to the topic of the seminars, as well as their personal impressions of understanding contemporary Europe, European values and the impact of the European integration process on Serbia in general and their life in particular. The Belgrade Centre formed the Commission to evaluate the works which was composed of persons who do not work at the Centre. Members of the Commission were: Bogoljub Lazarević, Assistant Minister for Secondary Education (because of his knowledge and ability to evaluate the knowledge obtained during the project compared to what is part of regular education), Vladimir Arsenijević, writer (as the most competent person to evaluate written contributions) and Branislav Dimitrijević, historian of art (curator of several most prominent exhibitions in Serbia and Serbian exhibitions abroad, as the most competent person to evaluate works of art and visual contributions).
The works of students were exhibited in May 2007 at the Museum of Contemporary Arts in Belgrade. Centre has invited all students who have participated in the contest and school directors to come in Belgrade for one day on the exhibition and organised a two-hours boat cruise with a guide on the Danube and Sava river. The authors of five best contributions received prizes – PCs computers. The awarded students were: Milan Kulić from Ruma, Stevan Nenin from Titel, Maja Ignjatović from Šabac, Zuzana Huravik from Kovačica and Nadica Radosavljev from Kovačica. See the photos in galery.
