BCHR at the EYDR Final Conference in Tirana

On 25 September, the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights participated in the Final Conference “Towards Engaged, Connected & Empowered Youth in Digital Democracy” held in Tirana, marking the conclusion of the two-year Erasmus+ project Youth Participation in Digital Democracy (EYDR).

Representing BCHR, Milica Mutavdžić took part in the closing event, which brought together all eight project partners from the Western Balkans and Europe, along with young participants, civil society actors, media representatives, and public institutions. The conference showcased the results of the Youth Digital Democracy Accelerator Programme, highlighting youth-led policy briefs and research addressing key challenges such as media literacy, artificial intelligence, technology-facilitated gender-based violence, and digital participation mechanisms.

During the programme, young researchers from Montenegro and Albania presented their policy briefs developed throughout the project, offering evidence-based recommendations and demonstrating a strong capacity to analyse current digital democracy issues. The conference also featured a youth panel and a high-level discussion on creating safe, informed, and empowering digital spaces for young people.

Milica Mutavdžić’s participation reflected BCHR’s ongoing commitment to supporting youth engagement, digital rights, and peer-to-peer learning in the Western Balkans. The event reaffirmed that young people are not only beneficiaries but active contributors shaping the future of digital democracy.
