Handbook “Step by Step to Your Own Business for Refugees” – now available in Serbian and Ukrainian

We are proud to present a new publication by the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights — “Step by Step to Your Own Business for Refugees.”

This handbook is primarily intended for refugees, asylum seekers, and persons under temporary protection, but also for anyone interested in starting a business in the Republic of Serbia. It is the result of months of work with refugees who have taken a brave step forward and launched their own businesses.

The handbook brings together the entrepreneurial experiences of refugees and asylum seekers who have already ventured into business, their advice for those considering it, as well as our recommendations for state institutions and all stakeholders involved in entrepreneurship development.

For many years, the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights has been advocating for solutions to numerous challenges refugees and asylum seekers face in accessing the labor market. Self-employment is one of the fundamental rights guaranteed to refugees, asylum seekers, and persons under temporary protection.

The Step by Step to Your Own Business for Refugees handbook is available in both Serbian and Ukrainian and can be downloaded at the following links: [handbook in Serbian] and [handbook in Ukrainian].

The handbook was created as part of the project “Step by Step to Your Own Business for Refugees,” implemented within the #PokretPolet public advocacy support program, carried out by Trag Foundation with financial support from the European Union, in partnership with the Centre for Social Policy and in cooperation with the Coalition for the Development of Solidarity Economy – KoRSE.
