On February 13, 2024, the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights organized a training session titled “Protection and Support: Recognizing and Preventing Human Trafficking in Serbia,” aimed at members of the Rainbow Migration Network and other civil society organizations.
The goal of the training was to enhance the knowledge and capacity of civil society representatives and direct service providers working with refugees, asylum seekers, people on the move, and LGBTI+ persons in the field of identifying and preventing human trafficking. The training aimed to empower participants to identify and refer potential victims to relevant institutions and support services, while deepening their understanding of the issue and improving mutual networking and cooperation.

The training was delivered by Marija Marković from the Centre for the Protection of Victims of Human Trafficking, who works as a professional at the Shelter for Victims of Human Trafficking, and Zorana Parezanović, Program Coordinator at the Citizens’ Association for Combating Human Trafficking and All Forms of Gender-Based Violence – Atina.
The session was attended by 16 representatives of civil society organizations.
The training is part of the project “Support to (Potential) Victims of Migrant Smuggling and Human Trafficking (THB),” implemented within the regional EU4FAST initiative. The project is jointly funded by the European Union, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, the Italian Ministry of the Interior, and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This activity was organized within the Rainbow Migration Network – RMN, a network established to provide comprehensive and continuous support to LGBTI+ refugees, asylum seekers, and people on the move.
The Belgrade Centre for Human Rights will continue implementing activities aimed at strengthening support for LGBTI+ refugees, asylum seekers, and people on the move in Serbia.
