Presenting the Analysis “Delinquency and Youth in Serbia – Resilience to Criminal Activities”

The Belgrade Centre for Human Rights presents the analysis Delinquency and Youth in Serbia – Resilience to Criminal Activities. The analysis is based on the findings of a comprehensive research study, with a special focus on key trends, conclusions, and recommendations aimed at improving the national approach to preventing juvenile delinquency and strengthening the resilience of young people to criminal behavior in Serbia.

The analysis was developed using data collected through an online questionnaire conducted within the project “Building Youth Resilience to Criminal Activities.” The project is implemented by the organization Juventas from Montenegro, in partnership with the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights from Serbia and Nisma për Ndryshim Shoqëor ARSIS from Albania.

A total of 3,649 respondents aged 16 to 19 from across Serbia participated in the survey. The questionnaire consisted of 95 questions divided into twelve thematic sections covering topics such as basic information, unpleasant experiences, attitudes and habits of young people, violence, revenge, and other relevant areas. Based on the collected data, conclusions were drawn and measures proposed for future steps in strengthening the resilience of young people to criminal activities.

The analysis in Serbian is available at this [LINK].

The results and key findings of the research, which served as the basis for the analysis, were presented in mid-October at a press conference dedicated to juvenile delinquency and youth resilience.

The project “Building Youth Resilience to Criminal Activities” is supported by the SMART Balkans project, implemented by the Centre for Promotion of Civil Society (CPCD) in cooperation with partner organizations from Albania – the Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM), and from North Macedonia – the Center for Research and Policy Making (CRPM), with the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway.
