UN human rights experts expressed deep concern over Serbia’s intensifying crackdown on students, professors, human rights defenders, civil society actors and citizens amid one of the largest protest movements in the country’s recent history.  They appealed to the government to engage in a meaningful dialogue with academic institutions.

It was emphasized that academic freedom and student rights are pillars of every democratic and inclusive society, and that it is necessary to establish a substantive dialogue with academic institutions.
