Together with the New Serbia Forum, the Belgrade Centre organized a seminar on Education in a New Serbia and Yugoslavia. The seminar was chaired by Professor Tibor Varady, Central European University and Sir Peter Hall, former British Ambassador, Belgrade. The topics discussed by the most prominent experts were: University Education (Legal restructuring – return to autonomy; State versus Private Universities; Return to quality – including the issue of the return of people who left or were forced to leave), Elementary and Secondary Education (Removing ideology and indoctrination from education – A new vision of history, of neighbours, and of “the world as the enemy”; How to renew pride in the educational profession), Financing Education, Education within the federal system (Federation, republics, provinces) and Multilingual Education.
