The Lawyers’ Committee for Human Rights has continues to offer legal aid to citizens whose human rights are threatened. Up until now, YUCOM’s lawyers have represented a large numer of victims of torture and domestic violence, human rights defenders, people whose rights to a fair trial were violated or rights to free access to information etc.

Due to the noticeable increasing need to combat discrimination in the education system, in particular in secondary schools, this project will focus on cases of discrimination against students and school employees as well as on cases of discrimination between students themselves. Besides legal protection, the scope of the project encompasses training for education inspectors and advisors, students, parents and members of schools’ administrations, with the aim of enhancing capacity and to better acquaint them with this problem.

If you become aware of a case of discrimination in schools, please bring this to YUCOM’s attention, by calling 0700 400 700 on weekdays between 10:00 and 16:00. You can also send a description of the case to the following e-mail address: [email protected] or fill in a form for legal aid.
