Breaking Silence: Youth Mobilization for Gender Equality and Violence Prevention
The project aims to empower young people and strengthen the capacities of local youth offices to promote gender equality and prevent gender-based violence in Serbia. Through a series of educational activities and campaigns, the project creates a safe environment where young people can engage, lead initiatives, and become advocates for positive change in their communities.
The project includes:
- Development of a handbook for working with young people in local youth offices (KZM), providing practical guidelines for promoting gender equality and preventing gender-based violence.
- Training of Trainers (ToT) for 15 coordinators and youth workers from local youth offices, focusing on working with young people and applying strategies to prevent gender-based violence.
- Workshops in five local communities for 75 young men and boys, aimed at promoting gender equality and empowering them to implement 10 local initiatives.
- A social media campaign, reaching up to 100,000 young people, promoting key messages on gender equality and gender-based violence prevention.
The highlight of the project is the implementation of local initiatives, led by young people in their communities with the support of youth offices, as well as the final presentation of the handbook and project results, aiming to engage key stakeholders from institutions, media, and civil society.
