The project aims to empower young people from five economies in promoting peace, reconciliation, and interethnic dialogue in the Western Balkans. Through a series of activities and events, it provides young people with a space for expression, participation, and leadership while fostering understanding, trust, and inclusion among different social groups.
The project includes five workshops for youth from five Western Balkans economies, the production of the podcast #YRT – A Space for Your Voice, which enables young people and peace activists to share their stories and experiences, inspiring further engagement. Additionally, a training for 30 young people from the region will equip them with skills and knowledge on peace, leadership, and public speaking.
The highlight of the project is the regional event “Youth Rights Talks 2024 – #Journey to the Heart of the Western Balkans”, preceded by a preparatory workshop for selected speakers. This event provides a platform for young people to publicly share their views, stories, experiences, initiatives, and recommendations while also facilitating direct dialogue with representatives of institutions, media, and civil society.
The podcast is implemented by the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights as part of the regional project “EU Support to Confidence-Building in the Western Balkans,” funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
