Providing Legal Assistance to Asylum Seekers

Duration of project: January 2010 – December 2014

With UNHCR’s support, the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights will continue during 2013 implementing a project aimed at providing adequate legal assistance to asylum seekers. The BCHR team will be continuously in touch with the asylum seekers by regularly visiting the reception centers at which they are accommodated. It will also be constantly in touch with the state authorities charged with asylum issues. (more…)

Discrimination and Economic and Social Rights in Serbia

The BETA News Agency and the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights are implementing the project Media – Watchdogs for Human Rights in 2012/2013, which aims to contribute to the realisation of human rights and responsible reporting on discrimination and a broad range of economic and social rights. The Belgrade Centre for Human Rights in 2012-2013 successfully implemented the project entitled Promoting Responsible and Professional Reporting on the Selected Issues of Discrimination, Violence in Society, the Right to Education and Transparency of Government Decision-Making, thanks to the support of The Balkan Trust – The Project of the German Marshall Fund. The project was a follow-up of a project involving the successful training of young journalists, which was implemented in 2010/2011, also thanks to the assistance provided by The Balkan Trust – The Project of the German Marshall Fund.
